Maria López opened Avalon Nursery and Ceramics in 1987 after receiving various fines for selling plants out of her car in south Los Angeles. With the help of her sons and husband she was able to expand Avalon Nursery to what it is today. Now, her youngest son, and granddaughter help her and are involved in the day to day task of running a nursery. This continues to be a small family owned and operated business. As the oldest nursery in south Los Angeles, it has served and continues to serve the minority community of south Los Angeles. As a long standing small business we pride in providing great customer service by taking the time to answer any questions our customers may have relating to plants and gardening.
